From the founder
Why I built Halo.
I've spent five years building in the industry. I've been playing games since before I could read.
Most recently I co-founded XP.GG, a gaming platform built on top of Fortnite and partnered with industry titans Riot Games, TALON Esports and GIANTX. We hit 200k users at peak.
While I was inside that world I kept talking to parents. And I was shocked at how little they understood about their children's social lives in gaming, and what their kids are being exposed to in there. Voice is the primary way gamers communicate. It's a social experience. But it's hard to keep track of.
My experience with kids in gaming comes from my own years playing, having six younger sisters, and being an au pair to two boys aged eleven and twelve.
I held this idea for a couple of years and it surprised me nobody had done it. So I thought I'd give it a crack myself.
Halo runs on-device. Audio never gets uploaded. You see what a parent needs to see, in the moments that actually matter, without surveilling your kid's life.
That's the deal.
If you ever need to talk to a person about anything that comes through Halo, you'll get me.
